Dr. David Farberow graduated from Illinois College of Optometry in 1980, and Dr. Curtis Simmons graduated from UC Berkeley in 1982. Both Dr. Farberow and Simmons had solo practices for the earlier years of their careers, and in 1995, they opened Plaza Lane Optometry in downtown Santa Cruz, on Pacific Avenue. Both Drs. have served as president of the Monterey Bay Optometric Society, both Drs. give back to the community in many ways, Dr. Farberow promoted vision care both through his Lions Club, and also throught the Vista Center, which provides eyecare for the less fortunate. He has been president of both of these organizations. Dr Simmons is a past president of the Santa Cruz Kiwanis Club and spent ten years on the Board of Directors of Shakespeare Santa Cruz. He is an active member of First Congregational Church of Santa Cruz, and has volunteered at the local jail for a number of years providing comfort and compassion, and hope to inmates. Both Dr Farberow and Simmons believe that the best way to continue to grow their practice is by providing the best possible care, along with the most current technologies. They treat their patients with respect and careful attentiveness to their needs. They and their staff help you to look and see your best.
