A Quick Look at Redbird Athletics Illinois State student-athletes are among the best in Illinois and the NCAA. Two-time National Champion and 2013 national runner-up Tim Glover (javelin) highlighted the athletic success of the Redbirds in 2012-13. In the 2012-13 academic year the Redbirds won 3 Missouri Valley Conference Championships, football made a post-season run to the FCS football quarterfinals, recorded a record xx department-wide GPA in both the fall 2012 in addition to over 3,000 hours of community service. The Illinois State and Bloomington Normal communities should be proud to know that our student-athletes are arguably the best in the MVC.
