Health Wanted Now evolved from the many hours I’ve spent at the kitchen table of prospective clients, discussing the logic and need for Long Term Care insurance. After nearly twenty years of doing that, I began questioning a medical system focused on prescription drugs – especially the large numbers of medications for people who seemed relatively healthy. That questioning evolved to increased interest in nutrition, vitamins and herbs, eventually leading me to study organic foods and the use of natural products for both home and personal use. My wife, Lubna, and I became engrossed in maintaining better health, only to learn that, at the youthful age of sixty-six, I too was mortal. I had prostate cancer. It was this diagnosis of cancer that spurred me to further investigate and research all types of the so-called “alternative” cures. Because of my research I never considered conventional cancer treatments, but instead followed a blend of natural and homeopathic care which to date has proven highly successful in reducing my PSA scores. At the same time I have become more physically fit and generally healthier. I have also lost nearly 20 pounds on this gentle regimen. Because of my own experiences and education on health issues, I decided there was something to share and began writing a monthly column in a local magazine focused on alternative health care issues.
