The year 2012 was an exciting one at Sunrise Retirement Community. We opened our new $14 million, state-of-the-art Health Center for skilled nursing care, assisted living and assisted living memory care. Based on a neighborhood delivery system, each neighborhood has its own residential kitchen and dining area, great room, fireplace and adjacent gardens. Residents enjoy their private room, each with a full bath and shower and a wireless call system for assistance. The health center features a beautiful indoor park - complete with floor to ceiling windows overlooking a courtyard with a beautiful fountain and wheelchair swing. Adjacent to the indoor park is the chapel/community life center. Our new health center is an investment in the community, and it renews our mission to serve seniors for generations to come. Sunrise is Siouxland’s only community based, not-for-profit retirement governed by a local volunteer board of directors. Sunrise has been leading the way in senior care for over 50 years. The Pointe at Sunrise, our new independent living community for seniors, is a recent addition to our 35-acre campus. We are pleased to welcome new residents to this special new home. Sunrise Retirement is funded through Medicare and Medicaid, third party sources, and private payment. We also welcome monetary and volunteer contributions from those interested in supporting Sunrise.
