The CAF is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing funds for Performing Arts Programs in our local schools. With all the budget cuts constantly eliminating school programs, our organization recognizes the need for outside sources to keep these programs alive. We believe that discontinuing the Performing Arts (music, drama & art) is detrimental to the education of future generations. The event started in 1991, through selfless dedication of many volunteers who donated time and money. There has been a tremendous support of individuals and businesses working together to create this two-day multi-cultural, multi-generational, musical extravaganza for both residents and tourists. These last 20 events have been wonderful community building affairs. We’re now in our 21st year, generating positive public relations and giving credibility for our community, Cotati, and the accordion. By producing these problem-free events that have benefited our local schools, we have donated over $320,000.00 to our community. We also believe the Cotati Accordion Festival has had a very positive effect on the resurgence of the accordion and community spirit and more opportunity and fun for accordion players.

Plaid Menagerie is a contemporary take on Scottish and Irish music distilled into a right rant with awesome rhythmic drive. Instrumental fiddle, bagpipe and keyboard tunes that put the brave back in your heart. Plaid Menagerie's great Renewed Celtic Trad sound is enlivening community events throughout Northern California. Inspired by their Celtic ancestors, Nanette on fiddle, Phillip on bagpipe and Benjamin Fynan on keyboard, have been playing together as a family and as a band for 3 years. Many people have found their sound irresistible. Dance Manager and Celtic music lover, Lauren Ayers wrote: "Plaid Menagerie played for our December Barn Dance, with caller Mike Fynan. The toe-tapping Irish tunes filled the room, a beautiful balance of fiddle and piano (amazing what the very young pianist could do). Everyone was in a happy mood to begin with, but dancing to such wonderful music lifted our spirits into the stratosphere."
