WhenThe Mall at Bay Plaza opens in August 2014, it will be the first enclosed fashion mall in the New York City area in almost 40 years. With it comes the first new Macy’s department store in the city in more than 15 years. The existing shopping center, which includes a 150,000 square foot JCPenney and encompasses 1.3 million square feet, is already the largest mall in New York City. In total, the new mall and the open air center will cover an excess of two million square feet.
